What will set the world free (from war, tyranny, and out of control
corporate greed)?

Answer: The truth that the tyrants hide from the public.

MOORE BRINGS DOWN HOUSE: LONGEST STANDING OVATION 'IN HISTORY OF
CANNES' FOR BUSH BASH FILM:

20 mins standing ovation for FAHRENHEIT 9-11, yelling, screaming,
cheering... 'This is the longest standing ovation in the history of
the festival! Unbelievable!' declared Cannes stalwart Thierry Fremaux.
Moore, raising fist, unable to speak over crowd, vows to fight...
Controversial scene in film shows wounded American GI in Iraq talking
about how Democrats must win election... Movie shows video of U.S.
soldiers laughing as they place hoods over Iraqi detainees, with one
of them grabbing a prisoner's genitals through a blanket...

apparently the story is developing - it doesn't say and there's not a
link there.

plenty of information about Moore's new movie is on this page and the
links there:

========

Try to look at the torture of war prisoners from the perspective of
soldiers. With an estimated 10,000 women and children killed in Iraq
by our forces in the past year and a half, thousands of our soldiers
have participated in the killing. The have to have noticed that the US
news corporations haven't reported any of that, that people just don't
know about it. Should also mention here that they've seen thousands
more women and children who have been crippled for life, that the
American people also do not know about. So the sadistic torturing of
what they view as 'bad guys' must have seemed like like nothing to the
young soldiers when compared with what they've seen.

===========

Unfortunately a large percentage of Americans minds are so deceived by
corporate and US gov't propaganda that the truth about certain things
(like the the invasion and occupation) seems incredible to them.

The American corporate news industry is a cash cow for the super rich
who also own the American politicians, the oil companies, and the 'war
machine' (defense) corporations. They want to make more and more and
more and more money, NOT to tell the people the truth about what's
going on, or to support democracy. Only the truth will set us free
from tyrants, fear, and needless bloodshed.

Here's a pretty good sources for daily news:

Wrong. Your psychic powers fail you as usual. The movie covers the big
oil corruption stinking out the White House, and Iraq, among other
things. When it gets screened in the free world, you'll be able to read
a synopsis online.

I would anticipate that to be the case coming from an old-line union
communist sympathizer like Moore. I'd expect wall-to-wall communist
propaganda and lies of the type that delight union bosses and
socialistic extremists. Moore is a dedicated anti-US, anti-capitalist
mouthpiece .

Hah! This, coming from the man who believes in ethnically cleansing
millions of Muslims from Europe and North America.

Given your newfound hatred of "sickness", Let's see you condemn today's
atrocities:

1) US forces open fire on Iraqi wedding party, killing over 40 (sense of
deja vu?)
2) Israeli forces launch a missile attack on a peaceful demonstration in
Gaza, killing at least 10

The biased media is allied with the terrorists. They choose what you
shall see and hear and what they choose to suppress. They have an
agenda They lie and then claim `freedom of the press' and refuse to
reveal any `source' for their `reports'. They refuse to honor
requests to testify and imply that they are `protecting' their source.
It is alleged that they are allied with `big business' when in reality
they abet socialist bureaucrats in a quest for power. Beware of the
neo-socialist democrat media complex. It is a far bigger threat than
the industrial military complex.

Yes - you make a good point.

And currently calling your government liars includes:

- PA
- BBC
- Iraqi witnesses
- Local police
- etc etc

Very sad. I suggest you read what his father (Michael Berg) says about
the incident.

"People ask me why I focus on putting the blame for my son's tragic and
atrocious end on the Bush administration.
...

Donald Rumsfeld said that he took responsibility for the sexual abuse of
Iraqi prisoners. How could he take that responsibility when there was no
consequence? Nick took the consequences."

She was shot in a car. Savage murder, yes, execution, no.

And she was breaking the law by settling in Palestinian land, so not an
"innocent victim".

There's also something called a track record.

tract = A leaflet or pamphlet containing a declaration or appeal,

An expanse of land or water.
A specified or limited area of land: developing a 30-acre tract.

You place a higher value on european socialist awards and french
socialist awards in particular than I do. French are still bitter
over losing Sadaam's business. They can have Moore as their very own,
The UAW fat boy from Flint will fit right in to the french union
picture. He can do an expose on the collapse of french union
workmanship at Paris airport that cost ten or so people their lives.
I'm sure he will find a french government official to blame, even
though this will incriminate a socialist bureaucrat.

I iterate SOCIALIST award. American print and entertainment media is
dominated by socialist who are unable to sell their bureaucratic
agenda to the majority. I guess their own rich and flamboyant
lifestyles doesn't correlate well with what they are recommending to
others. You should recheck the make-up of the committee. The chairman

Moore's case just another phony boring `documentary' loaded with lies,
hate and propaganda like his first one which attacked General Motors,

Yawn...... Just another whiny second rate movie...
Mike Smith
I doubt it. Even second rate movies are occasionally interesting. In
Moore's case just another phony boring `documentary' loaded with lies,
hate and propaganda like his first one which attacked General Motors,
the principal employer in his rustbelt hometown,
The principal EX employer. That was the whole point of the movie (Roger
& Me)...

Only very, very good movies win Oscars and Palmes D'Or. Bowling for
Columbine was a great film to watch, whether or not you agree with his
politics. Moore is a highly rated film maker, except among Republicans.

The UAW (moore's group of collectivists) and Japanese industry were
the cause of Flint's recession. But keep it a secret the UAW doesn't
want that ugly truth known. GM is still a major employer in the area
for those who want serious employment. Moore is just an ignorant jerk
exploiting the situation telling the locals the lies they want to
believe.

Corporations always have some pressing reason to close plants and shed
jobs. The poor dears always claim that they are barely getting by and
need to "remain competitive". In reality, the dividends keep coming in,
the company jets keep flying and the executives always find enough in
the pot to pay for lavish lifestyles.

Look at the outsourcing arguments going on today. The corporates will
claim they are "forced" into doing this by "market conditions", the
"world economy", "global competition" and other such bullshit. The truth
is that low wages and non-union workplaces increase profits and allow
the execs and shareholders to earn ever increasing amounts of cash.

It's painfully obvious that you are clueless about companies and their
reason to exist and their costs associated with conducting business.

Do a little research before you post your ignorance all over usenet.

What a bullshit peddler. Yeah, anyone that doesn't buy into his
factually-challengened ranting has been "deceived" by corporate and US
propanda. The only thing bigger than this asshole's waistline is his
head.
So you can judge what's in the move without even seeing it?
There's something called a tract record, Von.
Of course your right. Now let's see. He's an award winning movie
producer and a best selling author. While I don't agree with
everything he says I certainly have to admit he seems to have an
audience who disagree with you. That in itself is reason enough for
him to continue to produce. No one's forcing you to look at or read
any of it.

The point is that the people attending the Cannes festival are some of
the stupidest people on this planet.

corporate greed)?
Answer: The truth that the tyrants hide from the public.
===================
MOORE BRINGS DOWN HOUSE: LONGEST STANDING OVATION 'IN HISTORY OF
20 mins standing ovation for FAHRENHEIT 9-11, yelling, screaming,
Movie shows video of U.S.
soldiers laughing as they place hoods over Iraqi detainees, with one
of them grabbing a prisoner's genitals through a blanket...

plenty of information about Moore's new movie is on this page and the

========
So the sadistic torturing of
what they view as 'bad guys' must have seemed like like nothing to the
young soldiers when compared with what they've seen.

corporate and US gov't propaganda that the truth about certain things
(like the the invasion and occupation) seems incredible to them.
The American corporate news industry is a cash cow for the super rich
who also own the American politicians, the oil companies, and the 'war
machine' (defense) corporations. They want to make more and more and
more and more money, NOT to tell the people the truth about what's
going on, or to support democracy. Only the truth will set us free
from tyrants, fear, and needless bloodshed.

Yes, absolutely right - the ignorant masses liked hitler then, and
they like bush now. Both had the mainstream press on their side.

The powerful in Germany during Hitler's reign made sure that most
German's
didn't hear about the atrocities that were being committed. right now,
the powerful in the US make sure that American's don't hear about the
10,000 women and children who have been killed (and many more who've
been crippled) in Bush's insane invasion, that was justified with lies
- the invasion that is ridiculously (but successfully) billed as part
of a "war on terror" - even though Saddam and the Iraqis had NOTHING
whatsoever to do with 9-11 or any terrorism.

The truth about these matters will set us free from tyrants like Bush,
and the hellish wars that they get us into. Of course, Bush is just a
puppet for very very greedy billionaires who want more and more and
more money.

It is self-evident that he's a buffoon. He uses words, such as tyrants
like Bush and Bush is a puppet. There is no argument to refute. It's
all mindless rantings.

Are you too stupid to see that simple truth?

This imbecile clearly has absolutely no clue as to how to recognize a
"lie".

I rest my case.
